Do You Know How Many Parts Are in a Car?

Jim Hinshaw's Blog | Do You Know How Many Parts Are in a Car?

All of us usually go about our business and are so busy day in and day out. We are so wrapped up in our daily lives that most of us have overlooked, for many years, an interesting fact about an item we use so very often and highly depend on for transportation. Let’s face it, life without our vehicles would be harder. Getting to and from work would take longer. Running errands would be a lot more difficult, and ultimately, it would affect how well we can reach our goals and complete our daily tasks. Most of us would find it extremely difficult to live without our vehicles, but do you know how many parts it takes to make up your actual vehicle? How many parts are in a car?

Think about how many cars you have owned over the years; seen on your way to the office, or grocery store, and yet, we don’t even know the number of parts it takes to make one, but we do know, our lives would be vastly different if we did not own one.

Imagine a giant puzzle laid out before you and you had to put it together ensuring all the parts go in the right places, this is similar to that of the construction of building a new car. However, unlike the 150 puzzle pieces we are used to putting together on our living room floors, this puzzle, is on a much grander scale.

The car you hop into and drive every day has as many as 30,000 parts in it, which includes, every single part down to the smallest screws. There certainly is a lot that goes into building a car before it rolls off the production line and ends up in our driveways.

Now that we know how many parts it takes to build one, it will definitely be hard to look at any car the same way again.
