If you love your pooch and take him/her with you everywhere you go, then your car is probably not off limits to your furry friend or his shedding hair. Undoubtedly, they will shed in your car, but you don’t have to stress about it. Use these simple tips and you will have your car’s interior looking clean and dog hair free quickly.

  • Compressed Air - This can make clean up a lot faster because you can simply blow the dog hair out of the seats, floorboards, and trunk spaces. Car trunk floors have a tougher fiber carpeting and it is more difficult to get the dog hair out of it, but the compressed air will blow out most of the loose hair that is sitting on top of any surfaces. If you don’t have compressed air, don’t stress. Just skip this step.
  • Rubber Glove – This trick may be a little old school, but it works!! Fill a bucket with water and put on the rubber glove. Dip your gloved hand in the water and begin to wipe the pet hair from the carpet. Use your vacuum to suck up any hair that comes off the surface. When you get lots of excess pet hair stuck to the glove, simply dip it back into the water to wash it off then continue to wipe the surfaces.
  • Pet Hair Brush – Many stores sell pet hair brushes/brooms. Find the one that is made of rubber and has 100+ bristles. These bristles create static electricity that attracts the hair and lifts it away from the surface. Vacuum up any hair before t settles back into the carpet.
  • Fur Stone – These stones are unique in that they are made of recycled materials and are extremely durable. They are similar to a pumice stone but have a unique rigid texture that traps and collects fur as you swipe it across carpet or fabric.

Make sure you are brushing and grooming your pet as well. This is the best way to minimize shedding in places you don’t want to see fur.

So, don’t fear the next time you take your dog out for a road trip and he calls, “Shotgun!”. With these easy tips, you can clean the dog hair up quickly and easily.
